Follic vs Lordhair: An Honest Comparison
Two direct-to-buyer hair system makers, compared on the things that actually differ: returns on custom orders, shipping terms, price transparency and how you decide before you buy.

We're Follic, so read this knowing whose page you're on. What we can do is keep every claim below checkable: each fact about Lordhair comes from their own site, linked at the bottom, and we've said plainly where they're the better choice. We don't quote their prices — both of us run promotions, and a figure written here in August is wrong by October.

Where Lordhair is stronger
A longer track record and a deeper catalogue
Lordhair has been selling direct for far longer than we have, and it shows in the breadth of what they stock — including women's systems and a wide accessory range we simply don't carry yet. If you want a supplier with years of published reviews behind them and a one-stop range, that's a real argument and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
Free pickup on a first return
Their first-time-buyer return includes a doorstep pickup rather than asking you to arrange the shipment yourself. Ours is a prepaid label — cheaper for you than paying, but you still have to hand it over. On pure convenience for a first return, that's theirs.
Where Follic is stronger
The full price list is on the page
Every one of our product pages carries the complete build sheet and a size/price table — what each base size costs, what the human-grey build adds, what the cut-down is. Nothing sits behind a consultation. When you're spending a few hundred dollars on something you can't touch first, being able to read the whole ladder before you commit changes how the decision feels.
Free shipping with no threshold
Free express worldwide on every order, including the cheapest system we sell. There's no minimum to clear and no surcharge for distant markets — we ship to more than 130 countries on the same terms.
You can see it on your own head first
Our live try-on runs the face tracking and the render in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is recorded — you point your camera, and you see style, colour and density on your own head in real time. It won't replace a proper colour match, but it settles the question every first-timer actually has, which is whether this looks like hair or looks like a hairpiece.
Which should you choose?
Choose Lordhair if…
You want the widest possible catalogue from a long-established seller, you're buying for a woman as well as a man, or you want a supplier whose review history goes back years. Those are legitimate reasons and they're not ones we can match yet.
Choose Follic if…
You want the full price ladder visible before you commit, free shipping regardless of order size, and a way to see the result on yourself before you spend anything. If it's your first system, that combination removes most of what makes the first purchase feel like a gamble.
Either way, get the colour match right
The single most common reason a first system disappoints has nothing to do with which company made it — it's a colour or density that doesn't match. Whoever you buy from, send photographs in daylight and ask them to confirm the shade in writing before crafting starts. We do it free; ask them to do the same.
Frequently asked
Is Follic or Lordhair cheaper?+
We deliberately don't quote their prices here, because both companies run frequent promotions and any figure written on this page goes out of date within weeks. Open both catalogues on the day you're buying and compare like for like — same base type, same base size, same density. Check the size table too: a headline price is usually for the smallest base.
Which has the better return policy?+
The windows are the same at 30 days, and neither charges restocking fees. Ours is better on customised work; theirs is more convenient on a first return, which includes a doorstep pickup. On stock systems returned unworn, the two are close enough that it shouldn't decide your purchase.
Do both ship worldwide?+
Yes. We ship free express to more than 130 countries with no minimum order value. Lordhair also states free worldwide shipping. Check current duties for your own country — we declare accurately and discreetly, which keeps import charges rare but not impossible.
