Yes, you can swim and train in it

A properly bonded system stays on through swimming, showering and hard training — this is one of the biggest advantages over worrying about a transplant's early months. The key is the right combination: a skin (poly) base with liquid adhesive is the most watertight setup, which is why it's the choice for swimmers and gym-goers.

The base and bond that hold

Ultra-thin poly sits flat and seals against the scalp, and liquid adhesive gives a 2–4 week waterproof hold that tape can't match for immersion. If you train daily or swim often, lean poly-and-glue. A full lace system is beautiful but breathes rather than seals, so it's better suited to everyday wear than to laps.

The pool-day routine

Chlorine and salt are hard on human hair, just as they are on your own. Before swimming, wet the hair with clean water and add a little leave-in conditioner so it absorbs less pool water. Afterward, rinse thoroughly in cool fresh water as soon as you can, then condition the lengths. A swim cap adds protection and extends the hair's life if you swim regularly.

Sweat, heat and recovery

Heavy sweat is salt and oil, which work at the perimeter over time — a clean, oil-free bond going in is your best defense, and a quick fresh-water rinse after training helps. Let the system dry fully on its stand rather than trapping moisture under a cap or beanie. With this routine, an active life and an undetectable system coexist comfortably.

Frequently asked

Can you swim with a hair system?+

Yes. A skin (poly) base with liquid adhesive is watertight and holds through swimming and showering. Rinse in fresh water afterward and condition the lengths to protect the hair from chlorine and salt.

Will sweat make my hair system fall off at the gym?+

Not with a clean, oil-free bond and the right adhesive. Sweat works at the perimeter over time, so start with a properly prepped scalp and rinse after training. Poly-and-glue is the most secure setup for heavy sweat.

Does chlorine damage a hair system?+

Chlorine and salt dry human hair, just like your own. Pre-wet with clean water and leave-in conditioner, rinse thoroughly afterward, and consider a swim cap if you swim often — the hair lasts noticeably longer.
